The product I recommend is what you called the subject of this board post-- DVD Audio Extractor. You can download a trial, and if you like/need it enough, it is probably worth the money. I find it easy to use and also very effective. I don't have the web page handy, but if you Google it, you won't have a problem finding it. Good luck.

thanks scott, i'll have a look for it. given my situation i can't pay for anything, but i'll check out the trial.

that program is really quite good, and very simple to use. i've used it to get some of my star trek and stuff and love the quality. can extract in several formats too, mp3 and ogg being two of them
